Lead a team of scientists whose primary function is on the development and validation of analytical methods to support USDA/EU vaccine development and registration.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the staffing and team development of a team dedicated to world class assay development and validation for vaccine development across species.  Facilitate a TEAM based culture that not only works well internally, but cross functionally.
  • Evaluates technologies and methods using both conventional and emerging technologies to best support vaccine development and registration.
  • Supports the experimental design of assay development, validation, and reagent acquisition to ensure data supports global registrations and validity requirements.
  • Has a firm understanding of R&D goals, BIVI, goals, and works effectively to manager the analytics team with efforts priorities and focused on these defined goals.  In addition the individual should be able to represent the team on multiple teams, to senior management, and communicate/work across functional teams.
  • Ensures compliance with all team members and staff relative to SOP, training, Safety, and USDA/EU requirements
  • Prepares technical reports, publications, presentations, monthly administrative reports, and may represent the team in strategic sessions.  Able to present and defend efforts have an overall understanding of the team efforts and their linkages to project goals and objectives.  Must work effectively in the IPM/Express systems of project support
  • Individual must be able to lead and align efforts across sites including but not limited to St. Joseph, Fort Dodge, Ames, Germany, and China.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree and/or Doctoral degree with a focus in Biochemistry and/or Biology
  • Must have proven skills in in-process, clinical, and/or potency assay development and validation according to VICH guidelines.
  • 1 to 3 years of leadership experience
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
